Human Rights & Science collaborates with YGSB (Boda Boda entrepreneurs) founded by Dennis Mwebi by offering loans and business development programs that help them scale their operations, increase their income and contribute to economic growth.
Potential for Business Loans
In January 2024, YGSB received a loan of 170,000 Kenyan Shillings (KES). This financial support will enable boda boda entrepreneurs to purchase or maintain motorcycles, expand their business operations, and improve service quality and efficiency.
The loan duration is one year, with repayments beginning in February 2024, structured as monthly payments based on agreed terms.

Youth Growth Smart Boda Boda has had a significant impact on the community. It plays a crucial role in employment generation, providing jobs for young people in Kenya and offering them a reliable source of income and financial independence.

Despite its positive impact, YGSB faces several challenges as: rising fuel costs, which directly impact their profitability and daily income, making it increasingly difficult for Boda Boda riders to sustain their operations. Additionally, motorcycle maintenance expenses pose a significant financial burden, as frequent repairs and the high cost of spare parts strain their limited resources.
